Architektur (M.Sc.) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a four-semester master's programme addressing both the changing responsibilities in developing and designing the built environment and the architectural-cultural responsibility of architects. It allows students to engage in a deepened, concentrated way with special topics and current questions of architecture and urban planning on the basis of a completed bachelor's degree, while also meeting the generalist demands that continue to define the profession. Specialisation areas include experimental design, experimental urban research, real estate economics and project development, sustainability and architectural performance, and building with existing structures. Career prospects range from building and urban design through planning to construction management, covering private homes, commercial property and large infrastructure projects. Admission requires a bachelor's or diploma in architecture of at least six semesters (180 ECTS), a passed aptitude assessment, and evidence of a six-month full-time internship in an architecture office; the programme starts in both semesters without NC.
