Kunst, Doppelfach (M.Ed.) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a four-semester Master of Education subject programme building on the bachelor's programme Doppelfach Kunst B.A. (Kombi). It is designed for students who want to teach art as a full subject ('Vollfach Kunst') at Gymnasien and Gesamtschulen, and within this M.Ed. track art can only be combined with art itself as the double-subject specialisation. The programme combines the development of students' own artistic positions with a foundational study of art history and art sciences. Artistic work takes place in ateliers and workshops for painting, sculpture, graphics, photography, film and digital media, and excursions and the planning of students' own art exhibitions round off the studies. The programme is admission-free (no NC), starts in both winter and summer semesters, and includes an aptitude assessment for artistic suitability.
