Soziologie (M.A.) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a research-oriented master's programme focusing on social inequalities, aligned with the needs of national and international non-university research institutes and the research departments of profit and non-profit organisations. Through its content and higher-education didactic design, it prepares students for planning, conducting and organising research activities. Students learn to independently apply all phases of research projects - from planning and fundraising through the development of research designs, data collection and analysis, to the presentation of results. Particular weight is placed on the ability to analyse societal problems in an empirically controlled and theoretically grounded way and to process and present the results according to the target audience. The programme conveys the corresponding professionally qualifying competencies for this purpose, and its four-semester structure is admission-free (no NC).
