Technomathematik (M.Sc.) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a master's programme that connects mathematics with high-tech applications from the engineering sciences. Solving technical problems requires not only the ability to apply existing mathematics; often mathematical models must first be developed, which frequently leads to new mathematics. The implementation of these models on ever more powerful computers and the calibration of model parameters against data are further important steps, for example to predict the properties of new products in simulation. With this master's degree, graduates acquire theoretical and practice-related knowledge that prepares them for highly qualified activity in industry. The practice-related aspects are learned through courses in the university's engineering faculties and through internships. The four-semester programme is admission-free (no NC) and starts in both winter and summer semesters.
