Master (MA) in PNYX: Political History, Theory and Practice

The interdisciplinary Master’s Programme ‘’PNYX: Political History, Theory and Practice’’ is a three-semester programme. Combining elements from the fields of political science, history, social theory, law and international relations, PNYX aims to offer a broad-spectrum, substantial and systematic course of study to every citizen seriously interested in politics. EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM – ECTS: 90 TEACHING LANGUAGE: Greek LEVEL of Study: Postgraduate DEGREE AWARDED: Magister Artium (MA) The Programme addresses a wide range of potential audiences: aspiring or practising politicians, journalists or other publicly-engaged individuals dealing professionally with political issues, political communication specialists, and, more importantly, citizens; that is, those citizens wishing to acquire the necessary background for approaching political developments with the maturity and confidence of a qualified potential politician. PNYX also offers to graduates of various Bachelor’s degrees the chance to pursue postgraduate studies in a series of interesting specialisations (for example, law graduates can specialise in the philosophy of law or international law, graduates of Greek or European Studies can follow Modern History or Social Science Theory, and so forth). The programme is evaluated and accredited by : The Open University of Cyprus (OUC), through its participation in the European project "Liaison Offices with the Labour Market", offers to students of all its programmes of study, the optional and free of charge Thematic Unit (i.e. Module) entitled " Industry Placement ". This module provides students opportunities for a placement to gain professional experience in their particular field of study, and the hosting institution can be any public or private organisation operating in the Republic of Cyprus. Each student has the right to participate in this offering once or twice during his / her studies, provided that s/he meets the required conditions.
