Insects as Solutions for a Sustainable Future (ISSF) is a brand-new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme, exploring how insects play a pivotal role in environmental sustainability, agriculture, technology, and public health and offer innovative solutions to global challenges. ISSF trains a new generation of experts in insect sciences, equipping them with versatile, cross-disciplinary skills to thrive in diverse global job markets and to shape the future of biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, ecosystem resilience and vector control. The programme is open to both EU and non-EU graduates who wish to build a career in insect science and technology, contributing to the future of biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture, biotechnology, ecosystem resilience, and vector control. The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Insects as Solutions for a Sustainable Future is a two-year programme jointly awarded by four leading European universities: Université de Tours and Université d¿Orléans in France, KU Leuven Geel Campus in Belgium and Universidade Nova de Lisboa in Portugal, supported by a network of over 60 associated partners worldwide. Its unique mobility path ensures cohort cohesion and comprehensive training across three key areas of insect sciences: Insects in eco- and agrosystems (Semester 1, in France), Insects in industry and innovation (Semester 2, in Belgium) and Insects and public health (Semester 3, in Portugal). In the final semester, students undertake a 6-month Master¿s thesis internship in academic institutions, NGOs or industry anywhere in the world. ISSF graduates receive a joint degree diploma.
