Angewandte deutsch-französische Studien: Kultur, Wirtschaft und Nachhaltigkeit (AKWiNa) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a binational double-degree master's programme in cooperation with the Université de Franche-Comté in Besançon, France. German and French students study the first year together in Besançon and the second together in Wuppertal, combining cultural and economic sciences in a German-French context with special consideration of environment and sustainability. The programme responds to the societal demand for social, economic and ecological sustainability in both countries, training linguistic, (inter)cultural and economic mediators who work in interdisciplinary, multinational teams between Germany and France. Content includes applied French language and culture at C2 level, intercultural German-French project management, business administration in the context of sustainable management, and sustainability in literary and cultural studies (ecocriticism). Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a grade of 2.5 or better in a relevant field and French at C1 level; the programme starts in winter.
