Erziehungswissenschaft: Bildungstheorie und Gesellschaftsanalyse (M.A.) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a master's programme aimed at the analysis of education and society in modern constellations. Its core, from theoretical, historical and social-science perspectives, covers the pedagogisation of behaviour in modern social formations, the relationship between statehood and the institutionalisation of educational processes, and the internationalisation of societal structures and their consequences for education and socialisation, including subjectification and individualisation with attention to gender, cultural and social aspects. The educational-science questions are given particular emphasis through the focus areas of educational theory and gender studies, forming the programme's distinctive profile. This four-semester, research-oriented programme is admission-free (no NC) and prepares graduates for analytical and scholarly work in education, academia and related professional fields.
