Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften (M.A., Kombi) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a four-semester combinatorial master's programme in which students acquire deepened scholarly qualification in two subjects of the humanities and cultural sciences. The combinatorial master's degree conveys the ability to work independently in a scholarly manner, to reach one's own insights and to present them appropriately, alongside competencies for cooperative work across disciplines. Students combine two partial programmes from the participating humanities subjects, benefiting from the breadth of the university's humanities faculty. Important: this programme is being discontinued (until 30 September 2025); enrolment was last possible in winter semester 2022/23, and from winter 2023/24 new students enrol instead in the new Kombinatorischer Studiengang with the Master of Arts degree. Students still enrolled in the old programme can transfer to the new one if they wish to change a subject.
