Mathematische Grundbildung (M.Ed., Kombi) at Bergische Universität Wuppertal is a Master of Education subject studied for teaching at primary schools (Grundschulen). It builds on the bachelor's programmes 'Germanistik und Mathematik für die Grundschule B.A. (Kombi)' (for study starts up to 2022) or the Bachelor of Education Lehramt an Grundschulen (from winter semester 2023/24). Within the primary-school teaching master's, the subject Mathematical Fundamental Education is compulsory, as is the subject Sprachliche Grundbildung (Linguistic Fundamental Education), and students additionally choose a further subject from the specific subjects and combinations available for primary education, continuing the combination selected in the bachelor's programme. Students who want to teach mathematics at other school types are referred to the Mathematics M.Ed. programme. The programme is admission-free (no NC) and starts in both winter and summer semesters.
