Visual Strategies and Stories (M.A.)

Visual Strategies and Stories (M.A.) is an independent master's programme in the Design department of Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. It is aimed at students who approach their environments and living spaces with their own questions, focusing on the development of design strategies that engage socio-political, cultural, artistic, scientific or personal themes. Students work independently on their own design master project, deepening their content-related, methodological and media-specific questions in one of five focus areas: Photography, Illustration, Information Design, Intermedia Design, and Writing/Typography, supervised by professors and chosen co-mentors. The programme values interdisciplinary exchange, allowing combinations of these teaching areas alongside specialisation. Beyond mastering modern design languages, students develop the competence for interdisciplinary work and for conceiving complex information and communication strategies, preparing them to play a responsible role in the design and implementation processes of a global world.
